THIS INDENTURE made the Eighth day of December in year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and Eighty three Between JOHN BERRYMAN and ELIZABETH his Wife and BENJAMIN BERRYMAN and ANNA his Wife of County of FAUQUIER in the Commonwealth of Virginia of one part and ALEXANDER BRADFORD of aforesaid County of other part Witnesseth that JOHN BERRYMAN & ELIZABETH his Wife and BENJAMIN BERRYMAN and ANNA his Wife hath in consideration of Two hundred & Fifty pounds current money to them in hand paid by these presents bargained and sold unto ALEXANDER BRADFORD his heirs one tract of land lying in the first Fork of the RAPPIDANN RIVER in County of Culpeper being part of a tract of 1482 acres and is bounded Begining at a white Oak and an Hickory and white Oak saplin in the line of said tract of 1482 acres and extending thence North twenty degrees East three hundred and fifty eight poles to a Corner white Oak, thence North two degrees East fifty one poles to a white Oak and several Saplins on a Ridge, Corner to MICKALL HOLT, thence South thirty five degrees East three hundred and seventy six poles to two Corner red Oak saplins, thence South seven and a half degrees West one hundred and forty four poles to a Corner forked white Oak, thence North seventy nine degrees West three hundred and twenty nine poles to the first Station, containing Five hundred acres be the same more or less Together with all woods profits commodities and appurtenances whatsoever to the same belonging To have and to hold the said Tract of land with their appurtenances unto ALEXANDER BRADFORD his heirs and JOHN BERRYMAN and BENJAMIN BERRYMAN covenant and agree that the said premises now are and forever hereafter shall remain and be clear of all Incumbrances whatsoever (the Quitrents hereafter to become due and payable only Excepted and foreprized) and JOHN BERRYMAN and ELIZABETH his Wife and BENJAMIN BERRYMAN and ANNA his Wife shall warrant and forever defend these presents In Witness whereof the said JOHN BERRYMAN and ELIZABETH his Wife and BENJAMIN BERRYMAN and ANNA his Wife have hereunto set their hands and Seals the day and year first above written
