      KNOW ALL MEN by these presents that we ANN CHEYNEY, WILLIAM BROOKS & PETER BROOKS are held and firmly bound unto ROBERT BROOKE, ALEXR PARKER, FRAS. SMITH & MUNGO ROY Gentlemen Justices of the County of Essex in the sum of one hundred pounds Sterling Witness our hands and seals this 15th day of July 1740
      THE CONDITION of this obligation is such that if the above bound ANN CHEYNEY Admx of all the goods chattles and credits of ERASMUS CHEYNEY deced do make or cause to be made a true and perfect inventory of all the goods chattles and credits of the sd deced and so made do exhibit or cause to be exhibited in the County Court of Essex at such time as she shall be thereunto required by the sd Court and further do make a just and true account of her actings and doings therein when thereto required by the sd Court and also if it shall hereafter appear that any last Will and Testament was made by the sd deced & the Exr. or Exrs. named do exhibit the same in the sd Court making request to have it allowed & approved Accordingly if the said ANN being thereunto required do deliver up her Ltrs. of Admon. approbation of such Testament being first had & made in the sd Court then this obligation to be void and of none eftect

      IN OBEDIENCE to an order of Court dated the 15 of July 1740 We the Subscribes being first sworn have appraised the Estate of ERASMUS CHEYNEY deced that was presented to us by the Administrx. as follows Viz... items listed and valued to total £16 ..15...4 (some items being) two feather beds and furniture; cattle and piggs; a parcel of old cloths; a parcell of trupers arms; a parcell of carpenters tools, a Bible & common prayer book; a few old tools, a parcel of earthenware; a parcel of wood ware. a small parcel of leather & some powder & shott; some cash about 11/ and one old looking glass, 1296 lbs of Tobacco .
