      To my Loving wife Elizabeth Tuffley all my land and housing I now enjoy with all my goods and cattle and hoggs which I am possessed of and, in case of her mortality then I give and bequeath my land with all my goods and Cattle and hoggs unto my son in Law Griffin Carter and if it should please God to take him out of this life before he cometh to the age of one and Twenty years then I give and bequeath my lands goods and Cattle unto my loving friend Capt. John Hull whom I make my Executor of this my will.

      THIS INDENTURE made the 20th day of May in the year of our Lord 1658 Witnesseth that we RICHARD BENNETT & MARY ANN BENNETT of NANSAMUM RIVER in Virginia for & in consideration of three score pounds Sterl. Lawful! English money to us in hand paid before sealing & Delivery hereof the receit whereof we do hereby acknowledge do bargain & sell unto JOHN CARTER of Rappahannock in Virginia all our right title & interest in a parcell of land lying & being at NAIMCOCK in Rappahanock in River aforesaid bounded on a Creek on the Wester side thereof conteyning three hundred acres or thereabouts more or less now or lately in the tenure occupacon & possession of WM. BENCE & ROBERT BRYAN being all that parcell of or tract of land lying between the land of HENRY DED(missing)M, THOMAS GRIFFIN To Have and to hold the said parcell of land with all houses orchards whatsoever else to the same belonging to him his heirs & assignes for ever & we do hereby warrant the quiet possession & enjoyment of the aforesaid land & every part thereof unto him the said CARTER his heirs or assignes against any person or persons whatsoever clayming by or from us or either of us and also do bind our selves to make such further conveyance of the premises & every things as is needfull & as lyes in our power to do att all times hereafter when ever the same shall be required In Witness we have hereunto sett our hands & seals the day & year above written
