      - Order of Administracon is granted to Mrs. ANN ASCOUGH upon the Estate of her deced Husband, CHRISTOPHER ASCOUGH, deced she giving in securitie &c.
      - This day Mrs. ANN ASCOUGH together with JOHN INGO & THOMAS ASCOUGH acknowledged themselves in debt unto the Worshipll, Court of Richmond County in the penall sum of 40000 lbs of good tobacco in Cask, to be paid unto the said Justices or their assignes in case the said ANN ASCOUGH shall not truly administer the Estate of her deced Husband. XPHER ASCOUGH, & render a Just Account thereof & surrender up the same when thereunto lawfully required

      KNOW ALL MEN by these presents that we BRYAN and MARY HINDSON [Hudson] of the County of Rappa: have sold unto XPHER ASHCOUGH of the County aforesd his heires one tract of land being on the N: East side of RAPPA: CREEK and bounded Beginning at a marked Oake near the Southmost corner of LUKE THORNTON's Plantation down and along sd THORNTONs FOOT PATH to the COUNTY ROAD, thence down the sd ROAD the line of MAGGUE BARRETT bounded on all other parts by the bounds of sd HODGSONs Patent that is to say the N. and N: E: line of sd Patent from the beginning foresd. the sd parcel! of land be itt one hundred avers more or less from us the sd BRYAN and MARY HODGSON our heirs to him the sd XPHER ASCOUGH his heires or assignes forever To have and to hold without any lett or molestation of us or any other persons with warranty against the just claime or demand of any persons whatsoever

      KNOW ALL MEN by these presents that wee BRYAN and MARY HUDSON of Rappa: for a valuable consideration have sold unto JOHN ELES and LEWIS PARDOE their heires one divident or Neck of Land lying and being nere RAPPA: CREEK bounded as followeth vizt. Beginning at a sandy valley being the bounds of JOHN BENDALL and THO: HIFFE, down the COUNTY ROADS: S: W: to the head of a branch, thence down the said branch to the MAINE SWAMP, thence up the said SWAMP to the mouth of the sd SANDY VALEY BRANCH, it being the bounds of the said BENDALL aforesd, from us the sd BRYAN and MARY HODGSON our heires and to them the said JOHN EALES and LEWIS PARDO theire heires or assignes forever the sd land be it more or less with every part and parcell thereof to use and enjoy without the lett of us the sd BRYAN and MARY or any of our heires as fully and absolutely as wee the parties abovesaid hold and possess warranting the sd land with every part and parcell from any claimes or demands of any persons whatsoever In Witness our hands and seales this 3d of January 1686/7 Signed sealed and delivered in the presence of us

ASCOUGH of the said County, Plantr:, of the other part Witness at that the sd JOHN EYLES, ELIZABETH his Wife & LEWIS FARDO for a valuable consideration to them have sold unto the sd. XPHER. ASCOUGH his heirs & assigns One devident of Land being neere RAPPA: CREEK bounded as followeth; Beginning at a Sandy Valley being the bounds of JAMES BENDALL &THOS: STIFF downe the COUNTY ROAD SSW to the head of a Branch; thence down the said Valley Branch it being the bounds of the sd BENDALL to the MAINE SWAMP, thence up the sd Swamp to the Mouth of the sd Valley Branch; it being the bounds of the sd BENDALL allwayes profitts hereditamts, to the sd land belonging; To have & to hold the sd Devident or Neck of Land unto the sd XPHER ASCOUGH his heirs and assigns forever In Witness whereof to these presents have sett their hands & seales
