Recorded in the Fowler family Bible: "Samuel Fowler and Mary Ann Eastwood of Calvert Co Maryland were married - near Lower Marlborough Md. A.D.1838 October 18th." The hand writing of the entry is known to be that of their eldest daughter, Sarah Hannah (Fowler) Rainwater. Samuel Fowler, his wife, and daughter, Sarah Hannah, emigrated to Benton County, Missouri, along with Mary Ann's father, her brother, John W. Eastwood, Jr. and family, brother, James N. Eastwood, and sister Elizabeth Margaret Eastwood in the spring of 1840.
Samuel Fowler became a large land-owner in Benton County. He and Mary Ann Eastwood had seven children, and 28 grand-children. They are both buried at Cole Camp Cemetery (aka Parks Cemetery), Benton County, MO.
