      Father: Tract of land of 450 a. where my father Mason Bennett now lives on to him, also furniture during his natural life, then to my mother Mary Bennett during her natural life.
      Sister: Mary Devier the wife of Hugh Devier of Rockingham Co. the aforesd. land stock and furniture after dec. of mother, paying unto my brother Francis Cannon sum of 100 Ibs., in failure of a male issue by Mary tract in fee simple.

      The Will of William Bennett mentions 'Sister: Mary Devier the wife of Hugh Devier of Rockingham...' I think this 'Mary' is a full sister vs half-sister making her the daughter of Mary Ashmore and Mason Bennett. She is described in other research as Mary Pearlow Bennett [b ca 1757 Dumfires VA; d Rockingham Co VA]; She names two of her sons by Hugh Devier as Luke Cannon Devier and Francis Cannon Devier and names one son, William Mason Dever [after her father?]...

      All supposition, but thought I'd offer this alternative as it 'works' better with the ages of spouse and off-spring...
