THIS INDENTURE made this Third day of September Anno Dom: one thousand seven hundred & Eight and in the Seventh yeare of the Reigns of or: Sovereigns Lady Anne &c,, Betweene JOHN DUNAWAY of GREAT WICCOCOMOCO in the County of Northumberland. Planter of the one part and STEPHEN CHILTON JUNR„ & JOHN CHILTON & MARY his Wife, all of the Parish of CHRIST CHURCH & County of LANCASTER of the other part! Witnesseth that the said JOHN DUNAWAY for Four thousand six hundred pounds of good sound merchantable tobacco & cask, hath sold them the said STEPHEN CHILTON JUNR. & JOHN CHILTON & MARY his Wife their heires and assignes for ever. all that tract of land in the Parish of GREAT WICCOCOMOCO &County of Northumberland hounded as followeth: Begining at a corner red Oak standing on the head of a Branch called the HOLLY BRANCH, near the MATCHOTIQUE PATH, thence down sd. Branch to the Maine Swamp, from thence upon another Branch to a corner red Oak which is menconed in the Pattent for the sd, Land standing near the MATCHOTIQUE PATH to the corner tree where it first began. being by estimacon One hundred acres which said Land is part of a Pattent first taken up & Pattented by JOSIAS DRAPER, JAMES POPE and JAMES HILL in copartnership and by them, the said JOSIAS DRAPER, JAMES POPE and JAMES HILL divided into three severall parts, Three hundred acres whereof belonging to the said JAMES POPE was conveyed to JOHN BOUND his heires and assignes by Deed dated the Sixth day of Janry: 166( ); and by said JOHN BOUND conveyed to one BENNETT. who dyed wth:out heirs & one JOHN INGOE, who marryed with the sd. BENNETTs Widdow, Pattented againe the Sixth of July 1695, and by him the sd. INGOE sold and assigned to BENJN: BROWNE, and by the said BENJA: BROWNE sold to the said JOHN DUNAWAY. the abovesd. parcel! of land part of the aforesd. Three hundred acres of Land. To have and to hold the aforesd. One hundred acres of Land to them the sd. STEPHEN CHILTON JUNR, JOHN CHILTON and MARY his Wife their heires and assignes for ever: with all houses woods trees waters: the said JOHN DUNAWAY doth for himselfe grant said STEPHEN CHILTON JUNR., JOHN CHILTON & MARY his Wife att all times for ever that he will warrant and defend from the claimes of him, the sd. JOHN DUNAWAY, his heires or any other persons & that he, the said JOHN DUNAWAY, & MARGARETT his Wife by her Lawfull Attorney authorized thereto shall att the next Court held for the County of Northumberld, acknowledge the above prmisses: In Witness whereof the parties first above named to this pr:sent Indenture hath hereunto sett his hand & affixed his seale the day & yeare above written
