IN THE NAME OF GOD Amen. I JOHN SAVAGE of the Parish of South Farnham & County of Essex being sick & weake of body but of perfect mind and disposeing memory thanks be to Almighty God & calling to remembrance the uncertaine Estate of this Transitory Life and that all flesh unto Death when it shall please God to call, doe make & declare this my last Will & Testament in manner and forme following, Revokeing and annulling by these pr:sents all & every Will & Wills heretofore by me maids and declared either by word or writeing; And this is to be taken only for my last Will & Testament & none other; And first being penitent for my Sins past from the bottom of my heart most humbley desireing forgiveness for the same I give and comitt my Soul unto Almighty God my Creator & Redeemer in whome and by the merritts of Jesus Christ I trust & believe to be saved and to have full remission and forgiveness of all my sins and that my soul with body on the General! Day of the Resurrection shall rise againe with Joy and through the merrits of Christs death and passion possess and inherits the Kingdome of Heaven prepared for his Elect, & my body to the ground to be buryed in such decent manor as shall seame good & att the discresion of my deare & loveing Wife, And now for the settling of my Temporal' Estate that it hath pleased Almighty God farr above my deserts to bestowe upon me I doe order give and dispose of the same in manner and forme following, that is to say
First, I will that all those debts justly oweing in right & conscience to me any manner of person Or persons and funeral charges shall be well & justly entitled & satisfied & paid within convenient time after my decease and likewise I doe institute & make my deare & loveing Wife, MARY SAVAGE, full whole & sole Executrix of this my last Will & Testament and all my lands goods & chattel's dureing her natural life & after her decease I doe give and dispose of the said lands in manner and forme following, that is to say
I first I give and beque. to JUDETH PARR, the Daughter of PHILL: PARR and JUDETH his Wife, my house & plantation and part of my lands lying & being as followeth; first beginning at a marked white Oak that stands neare to the corner tree of BROOKEs land next to BROWNES SWAMP, from thence to strike right across to the head of a branch that runs up just beyond my Spring Branch soe downe the said branch to the maine Swamp of KILMANS BEVER DAME soe downe the said draines to the land of THOMAS GREENE & soe to the line of the said BROOKEs that devides his land & mine to the place first mentioned
Item I give to ELIZABETH ROBERTS, the Daughter of EDMUND ROBERTS and CONSTANT his Wife, the other part of land lying Lords. DICKE BRIDGE & BROWNES SWAMP on the land that was JOHN WEBSTERs but in case of her death without issue my will is that ANN ROBERTS, Daughter of the said ROBERTS and his Wife, should have itt and enjoy the said ELIZABETH ROBERTs part
Item I give to my God Daughter, ANN STRATON, one cowe and Calfe to them and their heires. This is my last Will & Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and fixed my seale the eighteene day of Febry: One thousand six hundred Ninety & seaven

The Condition of this obligacon is that if MARY SAVAGE who at a Court held for Essex County the day & yeare abovesd. obteyned a Probate of the Last Will of JOHN SAVAGE deced do att all times hereafter fullfill the said Will, truely pay and satisfie all such Legatees as expressed and do the Law enjoynes in such cases, Then the above obligacon to be void otherwise to remain of full force

THIS INDENTURE made ye tenth day of June in ye year of or: Lord God One thousand six hundred ninety & five in ye Sixth year of ye Reigne of our Soveraigne Lord King William over England &c., Between JOHN WEBSTER of Farnham Parish in County of Essex, formerly knowne by ye name of RAPPAHANNOCK County, of ye one pte: and EDMOND ROBERTS of Kingstone Pish: in GLOCESTER County of ye other pte: Witnesseth yt: ye sd JOHN WEBSTER for ye sume of Sixty pounds of good and lawfull money of England doth fully grant unto ye sd EDMD. ROBERTS his heires & assignes for ever all his land except One hundred acres which lyeth on South side of BROWNES BRANCH commonly called SCAGGS PLANTATION being pte: of ye Patent of 189 acres, that is to say, that ye sd JOHN WEBSTER doth hereby grant unto ye sd EMOND ROBERTS his heirs & assignes foresd. four hundred acres of land scituate & being in Farnham Pish: & County of Essex to witt: the hundred acres of land lately by ye sd JNO. WEBSTER of JOHN WATERS of ye abovesd. Pish: & County as by a certaine Deed dated ye first day of December 1686 and assigned to ye sd ROBERTS doth more planely appear, Alsoe twelve acres of land thereto adjoyneing & likewise purchased by ye sd WEBSTER of ye sd WATERS as by another Deed dated ye first day of April 1691 doth alsoe appear; Moreover, eighty nine acres of land likewise bounding on ye aforesd. two parcells here mentioned being pte: of ye abovesd Tract of 189 acres granted to ye sd JOHN WEBSTER by Patent dated the Twentieth day of October 1689 as by ye sd Patent relacon thereto being had will fully appear, Together with all woods houseing fenceing gardens profitts appurtenances wt:soever to ye sd three p:cells of land belonging; To have and to hold together with all its buildings, fenceing, woods, p:fitts wt:soever unto ye same belonging unto ye sd EDMOND ROBERTS his heirs by these presents, that is to say, that ye sd EDMUND ROBERTS may at all times forever henceforth peaceably & quietly hold ye sd three p:cells of land without any trouble of sd JNO: WEBSTER or any other p:sons haveing any right from or under them & without trouble or interruption of ye sd JNO: WATERS his heirs or all persons claimeing any estate right & well & sufficiently kept harmless from all former grants and do acknowledge at ye reasonable request of ye sd EDMOND ROBERTS his heirs all such other assureances wt:soever for ye better & more effectual! assureing & sure makeing of ye sd three parcells of land as by him or any of his Council! learned in the Law shall be advised, And further ye sd JOHN WEBSTER doth promise that at ye next Court held for ye sd County of Essex, or after when it shall be required, he ye sd JNO: WEBSTER and ANNE his Wife will personally appeare before ye Justices of ye sd Court and acknowledge unto ye sd EDMOND ROBERTS all right of Dower which they have; And lastly ye sd JNO: ROBERTS by these presents doth oblige himselfe that ye sd land & all its rights unto ye sd EDMD. THIS INDENTURE made the third/fourth day of January 1725 Between RICHARD BUSH of Southfarnham Parish in Essex County and JOHN HOSKINS in said Parish & County Witnesseth that Richard Bush by Indenture bearing date the day next before the date hereof for the consideration mentioned (five shillings) sold unto said John Hoskins land in said Parish & County on the Southside of rappahanock river containing twenty acres the same being part of a parcell of land formerly belonging to JOHN SAVAGE deced of the said County now possessed by Richard Bush containing ninety two acres joining on the West side of the said John Hoskins plantation & bounded beginning at a Corner white oak by consent made between the above Bush & Hoskins standing in the line that devides this land from the land formerly belong'd to EDMOND ROBERTS now the land of the said Hoskins running thence North along a line of Markt trees made between Richard Bush and John Hoskins its several courses near the head of a Small branch that runs out of the main Swamp of Kilmans Beaver Dam made between Richard Bush & John Hoskins to include the quantity of twenty acres of land NOW THIS INDENTURE WITNESSETH that the said Richard Bush for quantity of Seven hundred pounds of Tobacco doth acknowledge himself fully satisfied and freely and absolutely doth granted unto the said John Hoskins the aforesaid mentioned twenty acres of land

THIS INDENTURE made the 3d/fourth day of January 1725 Between JOHN HOSKINS in Southfarnham Parish in Essex County and RICHARD BUSH in said Parish & County Witnesseth that the said John Hoskins by Indenture bearing date the day next before the sd date hereof for the Consideration therein mentioned (five shillings) hath sold unto the said Richard Bush a certain parcel of land in said Parish & County on the South side rapp river containing twenty acres being part of a parcel of Land formerly granted to THOMAS PATTERSON and by several means came to EDMUND ROBERTS deced containing near or about three hundred acres and since possessed & held by WILLIAM ROBERTS of said County now held by the said Richard Bush adjoining on the East of the Plantation the abovesaid Richard Bush dwells on land bounded Beginning at a forked gum standing by and near the North side of Browns Swamp running thence Northwestly along a line of markt trees by consent made between the abovesaid John Hoskins and Richard Bush it several courses of the said line to a corner hiccory standing in the line that devides this land from the land formerly belonged to JOHN SAVAGE deced now the land of Richard Bush to include the quantity of twenty acres of land NOW THIS INDENTURE WITNESSETH that the said John Hoskins in consideration of a parcel of land conveyed by said Richard Bush to said John Hoskins by deeds bearing equall date he the said John Hoskins doth acknowledge himself fully satisfied therewith hat]) granted forever unto him the said Richard Bush the aforesaid mentioned twenty acres of land .
