      IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN I WILLIAM CATLETT THOMAS of the Parish of Saint Anne in the County of Essex being in perfect health mind and memory thanks be to Almighty God for it But considering the frailties of this mortal Life and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do ordain constitute and appoint this my last Will and Testament revoking &disanuling all other Will or Wills heretofore made by me and my body to the Earth to be desently buried at the discretion of my Exr hereafter mentioned And as for my worldly goods as it hath pleased Almighty God to bestow on me I give and dispose as followeth.
      ITM. I give to my Mother ELIZABETH EDWARDS all my land I now hold and five negroes by the names of Robert, Hannah, Tomm, Squire & Betty.
      ITM. I give after my Mothers deces'd all the land I now hold to be equally devided between SAMUEL THOMPSON JUNR. son of SAMUEL and WILLIAM MAGET Son of SAMUELL to them and their heirs forever.
      ITM. I give unto ELIZABETH MAGET Daughter of SAMUEL after my Mothers deced five negroes by names as aforesaid.
      ITM. I give to my Uncle ROBERT FRENCH that land he now lives on and one Negro man called Frank to him and his heirs forever And
      I do appoint my Loving Uncle ROBERT FRENCH my whole and sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament.
      ITM. I give my Uncle SAMUEL MAGET a clear discharge from the beginning of the world to this day (Viz) against all accompts Bills, Recconings that shall be brought on him. In Witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seal this Thirteenth day of May in the year of our Lord Christ 1741.

      MEMORAN that at a Court continued and held for Essex County at Tappa. on the 17th day of November 1742 This Last Will and Testament of WILLIAM CATLETT THOMAS deced being presented by ROBERT FRENCH the Executor therein named was proved by the oath of JOHN ATKINSON one of the witnesses thereto and afterwards At a Court held for the said County on the 21st day of December 1742 the said Will was also proved by the oath of SAMUEL MAYNARD the other Witness thereto and the said ROBERT FRENCH taking the oath of an Executor the said Will was ordered to be recorded And Thereupon a Certificate was granted him for obtaining a probate thereof in due form

      THIS INDENTURE made the Seventh & Eighth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred & thirty nine and in the Thirteenth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the Second Between WILLIAM THOMAS of Saint Ann Parish in Essex County Planter of one part and WILLIAM THOMAS JUNIER of the same Parish and County Planter of other part Witnesseth that for the sum of Three hundred pounds Sterling he the said WILLIAM THOMAS hath granted unto the said WILLIAM THOMAS JUR. in his actual possession now being by virtue of a Bargain and Sale for one year and by force of the Statute for transferring uses into possession and to his heirs forever All those several pieces or parcels of land containing Six hundred acres now in the Occupation of the said WILLIAM THOMAS or that formerly were in the tenure of JOHN BOULWARE deced MARY BOULWARE deced and ELIZABETH BOULWARE deced Brothers and Sisters of SUSANNA the Wife of WILLIAM THOMAS JUNR being in ye Parish of St. Ann in ye County aforesaid Seventy acres of land being devised to ye sd SUSANNA by ye Last Will and Testament of her Father JOHN BOULWARE deced and ye other five hundred and thirty acres being come and descended to her the said SUSANNA as Sister and heiress at Law to her sd Brother JOHN BOULWARE deceased and her said Sisters MARY BOULWARE and ELIZABETH BOULWARE deced And by them the said WILLIAM THOMAS JUNR. and SUSANNA his Wife Duly conveyed unto ye first above named WILLIAM THOMAS by Indenture bearing date the fifteenth day of October in the year one thousand seven hundred and thirty four and all houses and appurtenances whatsoever To Have and To Hold unto the said WILLIAM THOMAS JUNIER his heirs and assignes forever.
