PGCo Sct, August 7, 1775; this day came Ruth Duvall before me the subscriber and made oath that about 49 years ago Joseph Howard, her father gave a young Negro girl named Rebecca to his granddaughter Ruth Duvall but now Ruth Welsh, widow and after he gave the Negro he did maintain her for 10 years and upwards and after the Negro came of years she had one child which was a mullato named Eleanor and now in the possession of the said Ruth Welch.
