- A Writing purporting the Last Will and Testament of GEORGE OBANNON, deceased, was presented to the court and the identity of the hand writing being proved by JAMES FOLEY, JUNR,, was ordered to be recorded, And on the motion of JOSEPH NELSON who made Oath and executed and acknowledged Bond as the Law
Certificate is granted him for obtaining letters of administration with the Will Annexed

"Dear mother and brothers i writ to let you know that i am in good health thanks be to God for it at this present hoping this lines will find you all in health. Remember me to all my friends not forgeting Cuzzen Elizabeth Carle remember my love to her. I don't expect that i shall write any more and to let you know that wey are not ben in know battle yet but we yerepect it every day and night wey are on a iland about fifteen miles longs two miles or three miles wide and the innamy is all round the iland we have know way to get off we must fit our way off our men is a fiting every day and night the other night a battle the nue yourk iland other night at kings Bridge wrothe Town is
on the Island. i am in great hopes that i shawl see you all again but we expect a battle evere day and night i am gart hops that the town will be burnt in a few days the english wod have burnt it before this time but they want the town for Barricks but if they dont burn the Town wee Shawll burn the Town our slves now more at present but you dutiful

it is my desire that my brother Benjamin Obannon should have all my astat after my dets is paid i hop my der brothers you wont think amiss of it for i think he wont it worse affter my death."
