      Note: No.1. p.337.
Now here is the argument. This entry has been subject to the most careful scrutiny of our best experts. It being the will of Captain Nicholas Martiau, the oldest known American ancestor of General Washington. Also of many other Americans of Virginia origin. The names appears as 'Martian' in the record. It is written in an apen, bold hand and there is no boubt about it. The doubt lies in the record itself, which we believe to be a transcript ant not an original. B.F.
