He did not die in 1657, as he was named in the 1674 will of his uncle Richard ROBINS at Long Buckby, Northamptonshire, England as Thomas EYRE, son of my daughter Contuiwe EYRE. I don't know if he is identical to any Thomas EYRE in VA, but if there was a Thomas EYRE who died in 1657 in VA and married Susan BAKER, it wasn't this one.
