Bernard Moore of King William County, Esqr., only acting executor of the will of John Spotswood, Esqr., and guardian of his son Alexander Spotswood, with the consent and approbation of Edmund Pendleton and Roger Dixon, Gent., to Allen Wiley of Culpeper County. For £129.7. current money. By Act of Assembly passed by George III instituted an Act to direct the sale of certain intailed lands whereof John Spotswood, Esqr., died seized for payment of the debts due from him and the estate of Majr. General Alexander Spotswood, it is enacted that Bernard Moore or the acting executors of the will of John Spotswood or the guardian for the time being of Alexander Spotswood the son should be impowered with the consent and approbation of John Robinson Esqr., Edmund Pendleton, Roger Dixon and John Campbell, Gent., to sell so much of the intailed lands whereof John Spotswood died seized (the mine tract excepted) so as that the whole of the money to be raised did not amount to more than £6000, and convey the land to the purchasers. 190 acres ... on the Cow slip Run ... corner to Lott Underwood ... on the Rappidanne River ... to the mouth of the Cow slip Run ...

      AGREEMENT made & entered into Between ALLEN WILEY of County of Culpeper of one part and HENRY DUVAL of said County of other part; Witnesseth that whereas HENRY DUVAL by his certain writing bearing date the 19th day of April 1791, did for the consideration of Fifty pounds current money of Virginia bargain sell & deliver unto ALLEN WILEY a certain Negro George aged about twenty one years, and it is hereby provided & expressed to the intent & meaning of the parties that if said HENRY DUVALL or his heirs shall at any time hereafter well & truly pay said ALLEN WILEY or his theirs the just sum of fifty pounds current money aforesaid, then the title to the said Negro George to revest in said HENRY DUVAL and his heirs and the said Bargain & Sale as aforementioned to be utterly void and of no effect; For the true performance of all the agreements, the parties bind themselves their heirs to each other in the penal sum of One hundred pounds like money aforesaid; In Witness whereof they have interchangeably set their hands & seals this 19th day of April 1791

      KNOW ALL MEN by these presents that I HENRY DUVAL of Culpeper County in consideration of the sum of Fifty pounds current money of Virginia have bargained sold & delivered unto ALLEN WILEY of County aforesaid one certain Negro George aged about twenty one years; To have and to hold the Negro George to the proper use of ALLEN WILEY his heirs, and HENRY DUVAL his heirs shall forever warrant & defend the same from the claim of any person; In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this 19th day of April 1791
