Basil Wheeler Beaven, Will, June 2, 1839; February 25, 1840
I, Basil Wheeler Beaven of CC, being sick and weak in body, but of sound and disposing mind;
To two daughters Ann Beaven and Teresa Beaven, my plantation on which I now reside called "Hickory Thickett" and part of said plantation called "Beaven's Addition".
To two daughters Ann Beaven and Teresa Beaven and children of my daughter Louisa Carrico, deceased, (namely Anna Carrico and Louisa Carrico), negroes; Mildred, Elizabeth, Henry and James.
To two daughters Ann Beaven and Teresa Beaven, 1 ox cart, 1 yoke of oxen, all my stock of horned cattle, 1 riding mare, 1 bay horse, 1 eight day clock, all my stock of hogs, all my household and kitchen furniture, all my plantation utensils and all the balance and residue of my estate

Richard Beavin Sr. {Beaven}, Will, January 10, 1806; January 21, 1806
I, Richard Beavin of CC, being infirm of body but of sound mind and memory;
To son Richard Beavin, 100 acres of land part of tract "Hickory Thickett" and part of tract "Huckleberry Swamp", also part of tract "Drum Head". Also negroes, Charity, Rachel, Lucy and David, 1 cow, 1 black horse colt, 1 yoke oxen, and 1 pair cart wheels.
To housekeeper Sarah Thomas, 1 cow and calf.
Item: Negro Aaron, the balance of stock and all my household furniture to be sold at public sale to satisfy debts and the monies left equally divided between sons Charles Beavin and John Beavin and Elizabeth Saucer and Mary Carter.

Charles County Land Records 1775-1782; Liber V#3; Page 524. Jan 20, 1781 from Basil Bevan of CC, planter, to Basil Wheeler Bevan of CC (son of the sd Basil), Whereas Charles Beavan, late of Prince Georges County did, by CC deed dated Jun 22, 1728 {Liber S#2, folios 239 & 40), convey to the above Basil Beavan, a tract of land in CC called Hickory Thickett, containing about 200 acres; also, one other tract of land in CC and adjoining Beavans Addition, containing about 100 acres, which sd tracts were by sd deed given in estate tail, and whereas by an Act of Assembly of Maryland entitled an Act concerning Estates Tail and the Jurisdiction of the County Courts, passed at the City of Annapolis on Jun 15, 1773, it is enacted that any persons seized of any estate tail in possession reversion or remainder, shall have full power to convey any lands, tenements, or hereditaments whereof he, she, or they shall be so seized by such manner and form of conveyance as any person seized of an estate in fee simple may, by the laws of Maryland, sell any lands, tenements, or hereditaments whereof such person is seized of an estate in fee simple, and all such sales of any persons so seized in tail shall be good and available to all intents and purposes against all and every person, whom the grantor or vendee might or could debar by any mode of common recovery or any ways or means whatsoever, any law or usage to the contrary notwithstanding, This deed therefore further witnesses that the sd Basil Bevan, for 10,000 lbs of tobacco to him by sd Basil Wheelor Bevan in hand paid or secured to be paid, has granted to sd Basil Wheeler Bevan, all the afd tract of land called Bevans Addition, lying in CC, bounded by a Huckleberry Swamp, the afd land called the Hickory Thickett, containing and laid out for about 100 acres. Charles County Land Records 1790-1792; Liber K#4; Page 472. Aug 6, 1792 from Basil Beaven of CC, to Basil Wheeler Beaven of CC, 100 acres of a certain tract of land in CC called Hickory Thicket, in estate tail. By an act of Assembly dated Jun 15, 1773, it was enacted that any person seized of an estate tail in possession reversion or remainder, shall have full power to sell any lands or hereditaments whereof he is so seized, just as a person seized of an estate in fee simple. This deed therefore further witnesses that sd Basil Beaven, for 150 £, sells to sd Basil Whecler Beaven, the afd 100 acres, it being one half of Hickory Thicket, supposed to be about 100 acres.
