Theodosia McKelden, Will, July 7, 1827; October 1, 1827
I, Theodosia McKelden of CC, being sick and weak of body, but of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding;
To son Thomas John Speake, negro Maria, my best bed stead and furniture, my large chest.
To granddaughter Catharine Ann Luckett, negro Mary. Also all my right title claim and interest in the lot of land which I now reside. Also ½ dozen silver tea spoons.
To James Dutton Carpenter, my walnut candlestand, diaper table cloth, brass candlesticks and my small wine glass.
To son Hezekiah Speake, all my stock of cattle and hogs and the residue of my household stuff.

1819 Hezekiah Speake from Theodosia Speake. Liber I.B. #13, p.291. 30 Aug 1819 / 7 Dec 1819. Theodosia Speake to Hezekiah Speake all of CC for 5 shillings current money all her undivided third part of the estate of her late husband, Hezekiah Speake, both real and personal and mixed property which she is or may in any way be entitled to from said estate. To have and to hold in trust for the use of the said Theodosia Speake and William M. Kilden during their natural lives. After their decease to be divided between the said Theodosia's children: Elizabeth Moss, Hezekiah Speake, Mary Jane Speake and Thomas John Speake and her 2 grandchildren: Ignatius Luckett and Kitty Ann Luckett, children of her deceased dau, Catherine Luckett. Wit: Francis R. Speake and Francis E. Dunnington. Theodosia signed with an X.
