Aug 31, 1778 from Samuel Ellis of , to Zachariah Ellis, Edward Jones, Thomas Veatch, and Mich Ashford Dowdon, for the use of building a Church and a burying ground for the use and benefits of a Congregation of the Church of England in the upper end of M and lower end of All Saints Parish, a part of a tract of land in M called Friendship, beginning at a bounded black oak standing near the old Chapel, containing and now laid out for about 1 acre, for and in consideration of 5 shillings to sd Samuel Ellis paid. Sd Congregation shall, at this time and forever hereafter, peaceably have free egress and ingress to and from sd land. Signed - Samuel (S his mark) Ellis. Wit - AEns Campbell*, Elisha Williams*.
