George and Adam Winn settled on part of the Lewis survey in 1793. The school house was built on land of George and Adam Winn with the year 1783. It was used as a schoolhouse until Thomas Winn moved on the place and he used it as a kitchen and he held it until his death. I have lived near this place since the year of 1785.
