KNOW ALL MEN by these presents that we WILLIAM BALLARD & SAMUEL HENSHAW are held & firmly bound unto SALVATOR MUSCOE, JAS. GARNETT, ALEXR PARKER & BENJA. WINSLOW Gent Justices of the County of Essex in the sum of one hundred pounds Steri. Sealed with our seals & dated this XXIst day of June MDCCXXXVIII
THE CONDITION of this obligation is such yt if the above bound WILLIAM BALLARD & MARY his Wife Admrs of all the goods chattels & credits of HOWLETT CHENAULT deced do make or cause to be made a true & perfect inventory of all the goods chattels & credits of the sd deced and so made do exhibit or cause to be exhibited in the County Court of Essex at such time as he shall be thereunto required by the sd Court & further do make a just and true account of his actings & doings therein when thereto required by ad Court and provided and if it shall hereafter appear that any last Will &Testament was made by the sd deced & the Exr. or Exrs. named do exhibit the same in the sd Court making request to have it allowed & approved Accordingly if the said WILLIAM being thereunto required do deliver up his Ltrs. of Admon. approbation of such Testament being first had & made in the sd Court Then this obligation to be void and of none effect

PURSUANT to an Ordr. of Essex County Court bearing date the twenty first day of June 1738 We the Subscribers being first sworn before SALVATOR MUSCOE Gent one of his Majt. Justices of the peace of the sd County have valued and appraised the Estate of HOWLETT CHENAULT deced as followeth Vizt. items listed and valued to total Six pounds One shilling and Eight pence (some items being): three cows and a hogg; some lumber, a stone jugg ; an old broad ax and a pair of pott hooks, a parcel of lumber; a gun barrel and one old lock; an old razor; one old bed & furniture, one old tubb . Given under our hands this 12th day of July 1738

At a Court held for Essex County at Tappa. on the xxth day of February MDCCXXXVIII WILLIAM BALLARD JUNR. and MARY his Wife Admrs. of HOWLETT CHENAULT deced made up this account with the Court of their Admon of the Estate of the said deced and made oath thereto which was allowed and admitted to record And the Court valued the Tobacco therein at thirteen shillings per hundred

PURSUANT to an order of Essex County Court dated 20th of Febry 1738 We the Subscribers have set apart the Estate of HOWLETT CHENAULT deced and deliver'd unto STEPHEN CHENAULT the Childrens part that the said STEPHEN petitioned for in manner as followeth Vizt. 1 Cow, 1 Heffer, on powdering Tub to the value of one pound Sixteen shillings.
