At the request of Luke Philip Barber the following Lease was recorded June 21, 1804
Deed made June 8, 1804; by and between Ann Yates and Luke Philip Barber, physician in consideration of the rent to be paid and the covenants to be performed by him, hath demised leased and to farm leased all those two tracts of land lying on Wicomico River, "New Horse Shoe" containing 572 acres and "Yates Hope" containing 200 acres and assigns from July 1st next for the during the natural life of Ann Yates paying annually 1 ear of Indian corn if demanded. And also she will live in the house with the said Luke Philip Barber and he will board lodge and cloath her in a genteel and lady like manner. In Testimony whereof the parties to these presents have set their hands and fixed their seals.
