Jane L. Hawkins, Will, February 27, 1836; March 8, 1836
I, Jane L. Hawkins of CC, being sick and weak in body, but of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding;
To son Theophilus Hawkins, a tract lying in William and Mary Parish which I inherited from my brother Henry S. Yates called "Poppleton" together with all the lands thereto adjoining including a tract containing 40 acres which was conveyed by John A. Sayer and wife to Henry Brawner and afterwards to my brother.
Imprimis; To son Luke W.B. Hawkins, the land and plantation near New Town on which he at present resides which I inherited from my brother Henry S. Yates.
To daughters Susanna J. Weems and Mary H. Hawkins the plantation lying in William and Mary Parish, which I inherited from my brother Henry S. Yates and which my son Josias Hawkins presently resides together with all lands adjoining except a tract purchased by my brother from the heirs of Ratcliff. Also 20 acres of wood land to be laid off adjoining.
To my grandsons John Weems and Francis W. Weems, children of my daughter Susanna J. Weems a tract lying in William and Mary Parish which I inherited from my brother Henry S. Yates called "Dover" containing 96 acres and which was purchased by my brother from the heirs of Ratcliff. Also 20 acres of wood land to be laid off adjoining.
To granddaughters Margaret R.C.Hawkins and Jane Hawkins, daughters of son Josias Hawkins, part of a tract lying in William and Mary Parish which I inherited from my brother Henry S. Yates and which was purchased from Henry Brawner and Maria C. Brawner, called "Yates Hope" containing 205 acres.

Whereas my wife did make and execute her testament and last will, and thereby devise certain lands and real estate, now be it known that I Francis W. Hawkins being desirous to carry into effect the will and intentions of my wife, do give my free consent to the making thereof and reserving my self a life estate in the lands and premises.
