Charles County Land Records 1790-1792; Liber K#4; Page 94. Jun 29, 1790 from John Edward Ford of CC, to William Penn Ford, Joseph Joy Ford, Samuel Joy Ford, Edward Ford, Mary Ann Ford, Elizabeth Ford, and Charity Young of CC. Notly Ford, father of sd John Edward, William Penn, Joseph Joy, Samuel Joy, Edward, Mary Ann, Elizabeth, and Charity, in his will dated Dec 7, 1782, directed that all his estate and possessions, after the death of his wife, should be equally divided between all his children, and doubts having arisen about the afd clause of the will as to whether the estate referred to personal property only, and sd John Edward Ford, heir at law to sd Notly Ford, being willing to remove every doubt about the will, and to comply with the intent of the will, now this deed witnesses that John Edward Ford, for 5 shillings, has sold to sd William Penn, Joseph Joy, Samuel Joy, Edward, Mary Ann, Elizabeth, and Charity, an equal share and proportion of all the real estate that sd Notly Ford died seized of, share and share alike as tnants in common and not as joint tenants.
