Waitstill Singleton Church was evidently a mariner in addition to being an innkeeper. I have found a deed that likely pertains to him in Charleston County, South Carolina, in 1747.
On 10 November 1747, "Wait Still Church" and wife Elizabeth sold to his mother-in-law, Mary Thomson, a lot and brick house in Charleston for 400 pounds.
Elizabeth was the daughter of Doctrina Thomson and wife Mary (__). Doctrina, a planter, was bp. on 16 May 1676 at St, Dunstan and All Saints, Stepney, Middlesex. He made his will in Christ Church Parish, Berkeley [Charleston] County, SC on 12 Nov. 1730, naming his wife Mary, daughter Elizabeth, and daughter Sarah.
Mary (__) Church made her will on 5 Feb. 1753 in James Island, Berkeley [Charleston] County, naming daughters Elizabeth Church and Nancy Jeffers. I believe Elizabeth was the mother of his children. She was living as of 1754 and possibly died in Maryland.
Waitstill's second wife was Sarah, but her identity is not known.

Whereas Thomas Williams and Zachariah Lyles, deceased on September 22, 1762 became bound by a bond for Thomas Chittam in his lifetime to Thomas Lancaster for the payment of 300 pounds sterling and the said Thomas Chittam in order to save harmless and keep indemnified the said Thomas Williams and Zachariah Lyles, deceased against the bond dated October 29, 1765 did convey to them "Lot Number 22" whereon Thomas Chittam kept tavern lying in the Town of Bladensburgh. And whereas the bond has been paid and discharged and Thomas Williams and Zachariah Lyles, deceased fully saved harmless but no reconveyance of the lot of ground hath been made. And whereas Thomas Chittam by his last will and testament dated August 7, 1768 did will and ordain that all his estate, both real and personal, be sold by his executors and Waitstill Singleton Church having been the highest bidder for the price of 250 pounds sterling.
