      Will of Thomas Arrington of Washington Parish in Westmoreland County, being sick and weak in body, dated 16 Oct. 1715.
      To my well beloved wife Eliza. Arrington three Negroes, Jack, Jenny and Nan dureing her natural life.

      To my son John Arrington three Negroes, Dick, Sue and Moll.
      To my brother Wansford Arrington one Negroe man Will in consideration of his makeing over all his claime to 400 acres upon Bull run in Stafford County to my son John Arrington.

      THIS INDENTURE made this Fifteenth day of March & in the twenty second year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the second & in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred & forty nine Between THOMAS ARRINGTON of the Parish of Dettingen & County of Prince William of one part and WILLIAM MUSE of the same of the other part Witnesseth that said THOMAS ARRINGTON for the rents and covenants expressed hath granted to farm lett unto WILLIAM MUSE all that parcell of land of the said THOMAS ARRINGTONs being on BROAD RUN in Prince William County being the reversion of a greater tract of land PATENTED by WANSFORD ARRINGTON Father of said THOMAS ARRINGTON containing Six hundred & Sixty six acres & known by the name of the OLD TRACT part of the said Tract being leased to JAMES MUSE, GEORGE ELMORE, WILLIAM JONES & ROBERT FOSTER by the said THOMAS ARRINGTON the said Reversion computed to contain Two hundred acres bounded begining at a white Oak corner Notched with twelve notches near the Spring of SIMMS's BRANCH it being a Corner of ROBERT FOSTERs from thence up the said Branch to a Hiccory marke't with twelve notches in the old line thence along the said old line to JAMES MUSES Corner a white Oak market with twelve notches at TEBBS ROAD thence down the said Road to a Maple at a Crossway on the said Road market with twelve notches from thence along a straight line to another twelve notch't Maple in a drein at the WAGGON ROAD from thence along the said WAGGON ROAD wth JAMES MUSES line it being a marked line to a white Oak at the WAGON ROAD FORD on BROAD RUN aforesd a Corner tree of the said JAMES MUSES market with twelve notches, from thence down the said Run to a large white Oak markt twelve notches Corner tree of WILLIAM JONES, thence down the said Run to a Mulberry tree market with twelve notches another corner of said WILLIAM JONES thence along his line to the great white Oak Corner at the WAGON ROAD FORD from thence up the said WAGON ROAD by a new line of marked trees another Corner of said JONES in a drein thence down the said drein to a Cluster of Butterwood trees standing on BROAD RUN near the BRIDGES thence down the said Run to the mouth of the HONEY DREAN to a Hiccory markt with twelve notches being a Corner of ROBERT FOSTERs thence up the said drain to a white Oak markt with twelve notches another Corner of sd FOSTER on SIMMS's PATH that leads to TEBBS's thence down the PATH along ROBERT FOSTERs line to a white Oak Corner wth twelve notches near the WAGGON ROAD on a Drein that runs through the said FOSTERs Plantation thence along his line to the beginning near the Spring To Have and To Hold the said Two hundred acres of land unto him the said WILLIAM MUSE from the fifteenth day of March during the Natural lives of WILLIAM MUSE, MARY MUSE his Wife and WILLIAM POPE MUSE & HOPKINS MUSE his Sons, he the said WILLIAM MUSE paying yearly after the year one thousand seven hundred & fifty three the sum of One thousand & thirty pounds of Crop tobo upon the last day of June and on the last day of June in the year one thousand seven hundred & fifty two to pay the sum of Five hundred & thirty pounds of tobo only and said WILLIAM MUSE doth agree with all Expedition to build on the said land one Dwelling House sixteen foot squre after the manner of Virginia building and keep the same in good order and to plant an Orchard of One hundred Apple trees & keep well fenced and THOMAS ARRINGTON doth further agree the said WILLIAM MUSE shall have the sole use of all the black Walnut trees growing on the said land to be made use of as he may think proper.       THE CONDITION of the above obligation is such that if THOMAS ARRINGTON his heirs do fulfill all the covenants mentioned in the Lease as also not sell to any person whatsoever the land Leased to ROBERT FOSTER deced WILLIAM JONES without give the said WILLIAM MUSE his heirs the first offer of it & on their refuseal of the purchase thereof that then the said THOMAS ARRINGTON has full liberty of disposing of the same to any person that then the above obligation to be void otherwise to remain in force in presence of THOS.       And at a Court continued and held for the above said County the 26th day of August 1761 This Release with the Receipt were further proved by the Oath of WILLIAM TYLER one of the witnesses & the same were ordered to be recorded
      Memorandm. There is now a Suit in Chancery brought by the within named NICHOLAS MINOR agt. THOMAS ARRINGTON to oblige him to make a more full and perfect conveyance of the within mentioned land and if it should happen that the said NICHOLAS MINOR his heirs etc. should be cast and JAMES MUSES heirs or any other person recover the land within mentioned, all that the said HENRY PEYTON his heirs etc, can recover is the principall sum of Eighty pounds

      THIS INDENTURE made this twentieth day of October in the first year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the third and in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Sixty one Between JOHN PEAKE of the County of LOUDOUN and MARY his Wife of one part and HUMPHRY PEAKE of the County of FAIRFAX of the other part, Whereas WANSFORD ARRINGTON late of the County of STAFFORD deced obtained a Deed from the PROPRIETOR of the NORTHERN NECK of Virginia bearing date the Eighth day of December one thousand seven hundred and Sixteen for all that tract of vast land in the County of STAFFORD (now Prince William) on the South side of OCCOQUAN RIVER containing One hundred and Sixty two acres, and Whereas said WANSFORD ARRINGTON by Indentures of Lease and Release bearing date the tenth & Eleventh day of July one thousand seven hundred and Twenty One for the consideration therein mentioned conveyed the said Tract of land to his Grandson WILLIAM PEAKE JUNR. and to his heirs forever as in and by the said Deeds and Will remaining of record in the County Courts of STAFFORD and Prince William relation being to them had and Whereas the said WILLIAM PEAKE dyed seis'd of the said tract of land having first made his Last Will and Testament in writing bearing date the Nineteenth day of December 1755 by which he gave all his real Estate to his Brothers JOHN PEAKE and HUMPHREY PEAKE (parties to these presents) and to their heirs to be equally divided between them, and Whereas WILLIAM PEAKE late of the County of FAIRFAX deced in and by his last Will and Testament in Writing bearing date the Eleventh day of January 1761 Devised to his Sons JOHN and HUMPHRY (parties to these presents) and to their heirs forever One hundred acres of land lying on the CROOKED BRANCH of OCCOQUAN in the County of Prince William adjoining to the tract of land herein before mentioned which said One hundred acres of land was conveyed to the said WILLIAM PEAKE and his heirs by WILLIAM BLAND late of the County of Prince William by Indentures of Lease & Release bearing date the Seventeeth and Eighteenth days of November 1746 as in and by the said Will & Deeds recorded in the County Courts of Prince William and FAIRFAX relation being to them respectively had it doth more fully appear Now This Indenture Witnesseth that for the sum of Forty pounds Current money of Virginia the said JOHN PEAKE in hand paid by the said HUMPHRY PEAKE they the said JOHN PEAKE and MARY his Wife have and each of them hath sold unto the said HUMPHRY PEAKE (in his full and peaceable possession and seisin being) and to his heirs and assigns all the Estate right which the said JOHN PEAKE and MARY his Wife now have To Have and To Hold unto the said HUMPHRY PEAKE his heirs and assigns forever, In Witness whereof the parties have set their hands and Seals

      GEORGE the Third to JAMES HAMILTON, LEE MASSEY and GEORGE WEST of LOUDOUN COUNTY Gentlemen Greeting, Know ye that we Trusting to your Fidelity in privately examining MARY the Wife of JOHN PEAKE of your County apart from her said Husband touching her free consent to execute a Deed of Feoffment dated the twentieth day of October one thousand seven hundred & Sixty one made between JOHN PEAKE and the said MARY & HUMPHRY PEAKE of the County of FAIRFAX of other part for conveying unto HUMPHRY PEAKE One hundred and Thirty one acres in the County of Prince William and in receiving the acknowledgment of the said MARY PEAKE her consent first given thereupon to the Justices of our County Court of Prince William aforesaid on the fourth Monday in April next you shall distinctly return & certify to this Writ annexed Witness .JOHN GRAHAM Clerk of our said Court the 4th day of March in the second year of our reign 1762 JOHN GRAHAM
      In Obedience to the within Writ we caused MARY PEAKE to come before us and her did Examine apart from her said Husband touching the premises within mentioned and we do certify that the said MARY did before us acknowledge and execute the Deed within specified freely and willingly and (as she said) without Compulsion of her said Husband. Given under our hands this 12th day of May 1762
