      In the name of God Amen. I MICHAEL KAFFER of the Parish of Brumfield & County of Culpeper being in perfect health & sound memory .. therefore I make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following. First I recommend my soul to God that gave it .. my body I committ to the Earth to be decently buried at the direction of my Executors hereafter named.
      Imprimis I give unto my Daughter ELISABETH married to ADAM GARR five pounds in money to her and her heirs forever after my decease And it is my Will and desier that all the remainder of all my personal Estate to be equally divided after my Childs part is taken of among all my children That is to say my Daughter Elisabeth ( Marrd. to Adam Gar), and my Daughter BARBARA ( marrd. to JOHN WEAVER), and my Daughter MARY ( Marrd. to GEORGE UTZ) and my Daughter MARGRAT ( marrd. to NICHOLAS KRIGHTER) and my Daughter DORATHE ( marrd. to JOHN CLORE), and between my deceased wifes children, that is to say JOHN THOMAS, MICHALE THOMAS, MAGFLANA ( marrd. to MICK SMITH) and MARGRAT (to HANNRY COLLER) to them and their heirs forever,
      And it is my will and desier that my childs is to be equally divided between my daughters that is to say Elisabeth, Barbara, Mary, Margret and Dorathe to them and their heirs forever after my decese.
      And it is my desier that John Thomas is to fall short in the above mentioned Estate three pounds eight shilling which he all rally received and lick wise Madeleine Marrd. to Mick Smith Ten pounds which she allrady has received.
      Lastly I make and ordain my beloved friend Adam Gar Executor of this my last Will and Testament revoking all other Wills by me made and Witness that this be my last Will and Testament I have hereunto set my hand &. seal this 28 day of Decemb. 1762

      At a Court held for the County of Culpeper on Thursday the 1 7th day of November 1768
      This last Will and lestament of Michael Kaffer deceased was exhibited to the Court by Adam Garr the Executor therein named and was proved by the oath of Deobald Christler & Zachary Blankenbecker two of the witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded and on the motion of the said Executor Certificate is granted him for obtaining a Probat thereof he having sworn to the same & give Bond and Security according to Law.

      15 May 1762. Bond of Adam Garr of Culpeper County to Michael Cafer of same. For £300 current money. Adam Garr hath undertaken to maintain and support his father in law Michael Cafer during his natural life in a Christian like manner and so support Michael Cafer with the necessaries of this life so far as his ability affords and duly to have regar to his wants, necessities and to endeavour to support him according to his former circumstances, not exposing him to any labour or servile work, nor putting or molesting him out or in of the house whereon and wherein they now live, but in all things as a faithful son in law shall behave himself, and that not grudgingly, Cafer letting Garr have his Negroes [ ] and Sam towards the support and not disbursing what he has reserved for his own sustinance.
