Indenture made October 13, 1773; John Chaplin, joyner in consideration of 50 pounds current money paid by Christopher Hyatt, planter has sold 78 acres of land being part of a tract called "Chaplin's Parcel Enlarged". Signed John Chaplin in the presence of and acknowledged before Christopher Lowndes Richard Henderson and at the same time Rebecca Chaplin wife of John Chaplin relinquished her right of dower
