      BE IT KNOWN unto all men by these presents that wee LODOWICK ROWZEE, JOHN ROWZEE and EDWARD ROWZEE of the Parish of Sittenburne the County of Rappahannock for and in consideration of the sum of Five thousand pounds of Tobb: to us in hand paid have sold and confirmed THOS: CRIPPS his heirs all and wholy a certain tract of land containing Thirty acres be it more or less being in sd County of Rappa on the South side of RAPPA: RIVER and on a small branch or gutt that falleth into OCCUPACY CREEK and begineth at a small red Oake in a point by a great Marsh, it being the corner tree of the land of WM. HARPER and runeth from sd Corner tree N.W. along the line of WM. HARPER to a marked red Oake by a Deepe branch side from thence over the said Deep Branch still keeping the same course alonge the same line to a marked Pockhickory that standeth on the further side of a Deep Branch that falleth into the abovesd small gutt or branch of OCCUPACY CREEK and runing from the sd Pock- hickory alonge the branch down the sd branch and into the abovesd small gutt or branch finally down the said branch including all the land between the sd branch and the aforemen coned line of WM. HARPERs land To have and to hold the sd parcell of land to him sd THO: CRIPS and his heirs with all the right thereof belonging from all and every of us our heirs and from the just claime of all persons that may lay any claime thereunto or to any part thereof and wee have this day for ourselves our heirs put sd THOS. CRIPPS free full and actual! possession of sd parcell of land by livery and seizen to the free and absolute behoofe and comoditie of him the sd THO: CRIPPS and his heirs and assigns forever Witness our hands and seales this 26th day of July 1689

      - RALPH SPEED and ELIZABETH his Wife upon bringing their accon against THOMAS CRIPPS declare that the said CRIPPS standeth indebted to them the sum of One thousand five hundred pounds of tobacco and cask it being due for Rent as it may appear by an Indenture bearing date the twenty third day of November 1688 from under the said CRIPPS his hand and seale and refuseth payment; wherefore the Plaintiffs pray'd order for pr:sent paymt: with cost; To which the Defendt: appeared and for plea saith that the Plaintiffs have noe cause of accon against him and mov'd for a dismismt: therein, on due consideracon whereof the Court have dismist the same

Corner tree North West along the line of WILLIAM HARPER to a marked red Oake by a deep branch side, from thence over ye sd Deep Branch still keeping the same course along the same line to a marked Pocickory that standeth on the furthest side of a Deep Branch that falleth into ye abovesd, small gutt, or Branch of OCCUPACEY CREEKE, and then runing from ye sd Pocickory down the Branch into the abovesd. small gutt or branch of OCCUPACEY, finally downe the sd. gutt or branch includeing all the land between the sd. Branch and the aforemenconed line of WILLIAM HARPERs Land; To have & to hold the sd. Land to him the sd. THOMAS CRIPPS and his heirs & assignes forever withall the rights members & appurtenances thereunto belonging; from all & every of us our heirs and any persons that shall lay clayme theretunto, And we have this day for our selves and heirs put him the sd THOMAS CRIPPS in free full & actuall possession of ye sd. parcell of Land by Livery & Seisin to ye free full and absolute behoofe & commodity of him ye sd THOMAS CRIPPS & his heirs & assignes forever; Witness our hands and seales this 26th day of July 1689

      THIS INDENTURE made ye seventh day of September in ye years of our Lord God One thousand six hundred ninety & nine Between JAMES BOUGHAN of ye Parish of Farnham in ye County of Essex in ye Colony of Virga: Gent., of ye one part & THO. GREGSON of ye Parish of Sittenburne in ye same County, Gent . of ye other part, Witnesseth that in consideracon of three thousand pds. of good wound merchantable tobb: & caske unto mee ye sd JAMES BOUGHAN in hand truly paid, he ye sd JAMES BOUGHAN doth hereby grant unto ye sd THO: GREGSON his heirs & assignes forever all that parcell of land containing by estimacon Thirty acres being in ye County of Essex aforesd. formerly called RAPPA: County on a small branch or gutt that failed into OCCU-PACON CREEKE and bounded as followeth that is to say Begining at a small red Oake on a point by a. great Marsh it being ye corner tree of a tract of land formerly belonging to WM. HARPER but not belonging to THO: GREGSON and runing from ye sd corner tree North West along ye line of ye sd tract of land, from thence over the DEEP BRANCH to a marked red Oak by a DEEP BRANCH still keeping ye same Course along ye same line to a marked Pocikory that standeth on ye farther side of a Deep Branch that falleth into ye above sd small gutt of OCCUPACON CREEKE and then tuning from ye sd Pocikery down ye branch into ye abovesd, small gutt or branch of OCCUPACON finally downe ye ad gutt or branch includeing all ye land between ye sd branch & ye aforemenconed line formerly of ye sd WM. HARPERs & now of ye sd THO: GREGSONs land, Together with all houses buildings barns tobacco houses orchards trees whatsoever belonging to ye sd land wch: said tract or parcell of land was granted & conveyed by LODOWICK ROWZEE, JNO: ROWZEE & EDWD. ROWZEE unto THO: CRIPPS by one Deed of Sale under their hands & seales bearing date ye Twenty sixth day of July Anno 1689 & by ye sd THO: CRIPPS assigned unto GEORGE PARKE deced by an Assignment thereof under his hand & seale endorsed on ye sd Deed of Sale & bearing date ye Twenty first day of Febry: 1695, And by ye last Will &Testamt. of ye sd GEO: PARKE given & devised unto ye sd JAMES BOUGHAN in fee simple & now is ye possession of ye sd THO: CRIPPS as Tenant unto ye sd JAMES BOUGHAN To have & to hold ye said tract of land to be sd THO: GREGSON his heirs & assignes from henceforth paying ye rents & services wch: shall hereafter become due unto our Sovereign Lord ye King And the sd JAMES BOUGHAN for himselfe his heirs doth promise that at all times forever after ye sd THO: GREGSON to enter into &enjoy ye sd tract of land without molestacon of ye sd JAMES BOUGHAN his heirs or assignes In Witness whereof ye parties first abovenamed have sett their hands & seales Signed sealed & delivered in ye presence of us
