      1763-1767 Prince George's County, Maryland Land Records Liber TT [Abstract by Mike Marshall]; Page 553. At the request of Edmund Turner the following Deed was recorded May 6, 1766
      Indenture made April 30, 1766; Charles Hammond, George Stewart and John Brice of Anne Arundel County, Maryland Gentleman the present commissioners of the loan office for emitting paper currency under the act of assembly passed in the year 1732 of the one part and Edmund Turner of Prince George's County, Gentleman of the other part. Whereas Robert Brashears or about April 7, 1738 entered into and passed his bond in the penalty of 200 pounds current money of Maryland conditioned for the payment of 100 pounds like money payable to the aforesaid Charles Hammond and Robert Gordon and Richard Francis now deceased then commissioners or trustees for emitting the bills of credit established by the act of assembly aforesaid which said Robert Gordon and Richard Francis have been succeeded as commissioners by George Stewart and John Brice; and whereas Robert Brashears not having complied with the condition of his bond aforesaid the said Charles Hammond, George Stewart and John Brice pursuant to the act of assembly aforesaid did on or about June 19, 1764 sue out of his lordships writ of fieri facias directed to the sheriff Prince Georges County aforesaid and by virtue whereof the Sheriff did take into his possession for the use of the public and to discharge the money due on the bond aforesaid all that tract of Robert Brashears called "Brashear's Meadow" containing 200 acres beginning at a bound white oak standing on the east side of a branch of Potomac River near the corner of Laxton's land. And after public notice given did expose the same to sale and at public venue the said Edmund Turner being highest bidder did purchase the tract for the sum of 52 pounds current money. Now this indenture witness that Charles Hammond, George Stewart and John Brice commissioners aforesaid for the time being in pursuance of the act of assembly and in consideration of the sum of 52 pounds current money paid to George Scott, Sheriff of Prince George's County for the use of the loan office has sold and made over by these presents the aforesaid tract of land to Edmund Turner. Signed Edmund Turner in the presence of and acknowledged before Joshua Beall, Christopher Lowndes and at the same time Catherine Turner wife of Edmund Turner relinquished her right of dower
